Where it all began.

The Southern Tier

BELL HILL WOODS.jpeg

Life began south of Corning, NY near the P.A. border where there’s plenty of open space, things to explore, and some of the coolest wildlife experiences I’ve ever had. I grew up outside, whether it was playing school sports, snowboarding in the winter or hunting and fishing, being in the open air was always the move.

When I was young back home, to kill time, I would always either explore the woods or try to build something from spare parts and fasteners. My dad works in masonry and my uncle works in carpentry and it only added to my fascination with crafting techniques. Constantly seeing the various tools and building techniques channelled my thinking into the world of construction and engineering.

As I progressed through school, especially towards the end of high-school, I thought engineering was it. I always loved mechanics and getting my hands on things, taking them apart and attempting to re-assemble the various parts. When it came down to studying for that line of work, I hit a wall.

After a quick stint at the University at Buffalo and Corning CC it was time to make a life change.

Rochester

I made my move when I started attending Monroe CC, I reset my career and started to look for another door into the engineering/design world. I took classes I thought were interesting and once my interests started to move toward the arts, I discovered the world of Industrial Design.

I would sit and sketch in my notebook during class and I would accumulate all of these small still life sketches of random objects that were in the room. I loved certain forms of products and felt like I had a good understanding of usefulness and effectiveness in a product but never really knew what to call it. After a little research into different careers, I found a profession that’s hands-on and creative. ID was the new path.

The final leg of my collegiate career landed me at the Rochester Institute of Technology where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design while rediscovering my love and passion for outdoor products and their uses. I was able to tailor my projects around my interests and this gave me great hope I could one day join and impact a team in the world of product design.

Current Life

I currently reside outside of the city in Webster, NY where I design, craft, create, etc. When I’m not on the clock, I’m usually out fishing, sometimes hunting, snowboarding in the winter and golf in the summer, just a few of many things to do around western, NY.
