Branding/Package Development

Ripler Baits started from a nickname made by a crew of friends as an angler alter ego, Kip Ripler. The name seemed to fit so well with the project that I made it a brand. Once the main form of packaging was solidified, it was on to shelf presence.

As seen below, many versions of the graphics were produced until finally a few were selected, color introduced and some fine tuned adjustments were made to make the final package and branding.

It’s not an easy game competing visually with the main suppliers of fishing lures. Walking down the aisles of a tackle shop can be overwhelming to some folks so the key was making this package pop, using different colors and imagery than many of the competitors to peak the customer’s curiosity and draw them in, allowing them to absorb the game changing information about the Ripler Shad by Ripler Baits.
